Say Cheeeeese! |

The High Beams recently enjoyed a day around Nedlands WA, posing for a series of photographs for some upcoming promotional material. The snaps were taken by Photographer, Jodie Maher, a WA based "Snapster" with a real eye for rock 'n roll photography and great locations. Check out some more pics here. |

The musical collaboration between Dan Glasgow & Dave Thomas is in full swing. With their newly fitted studio now fully operational, NaughtyGoodBoy tracks for the debut album are coming thick and fast. The album will include the song, "Alright" (Penned by Dan) which even in its original demo form received quite a few spins on triple J recently. Morning show presenter, Zan Rowe, said of the song, "What is it about the healthy state of pop on WA? This is another great, melodic tune from the west. Nice recording of the vocals here... a sweet song..." |

Joining the boys in the studio (and in the box seat for the live shows
to come) are the talented Mikey & Timmy Weigele on Bass & Drums
respectively. "It's a nice balance" says Dave. "Dan & I have this kind
of instinctive understanding when it comes to music. We can almost feel
each others ideas and often, with just a look... or a series of grunts
we understand one another". The Weigele Brothers have a similar thing
going and its a truly wonderful thing when there's a creative explosion
in the studio and they're going... "You know like boompty boomp da da
Boomper" and Dan and I are saying "you know like twangity twang
twang!"... all the time nodding in agreeance. Onomatopoeia aside, there's a great vibe in the studio and the boys are keen to get a few live gigs in before the final recording phase commences. "We want to be sure that the songs will translate live" says Dan. We want a crisp studio sound but with live attitude. So as we complete pre-production stage, we'll lock in a gig or two, and then its full steam ahead on the final recording." |

High Beams - New Years Eve |
![]() |
The High Beams have confirmed that they will be seeing the 2007 new year out at the Moon & Sixpence. A special outdoor stage is planned for the front courtyard with the guys schedule to play between 8pm and 1am. There will be a theme but as yet, the creatives at The Moon are still deciding. If you've got an idea, emails us at info@mymedia.com.au |
| Addicted to Bass | July 2007 |
The High Beams will be welcoming new Bass player, Graeme Bell into the fold during July and ongoing, as the band settle on a permanent replacement for Hughie who is now based in Canada. Graeme, a long-time friend of Dan and Dave's also plays in the very cool, Zydecats who have a swingin' Sunday session at Clancy's Fish Pub in Fremantle. Also, a great singer, you'll have to watch out for Graeme's rendition of the Ian Dury classic, "Sex & Drugs & Rock n Roll"... Keep your silly ways! |

| Dave Thomas - CD Launch |
| There
was a definite party atmosphere at the Planet Multi-Arts Venue in Brunswick Street for the
debut Melbourne performance from former WA singer-songwriter David Thomas and his band,
the Far Flung Friends. Word of mouth and the newly minted EP 'Fly' had obviously both worked a treat in unfamiliar territory, with a large crowd already on hand by the time support act Andrew Wallace came out... More |
